The Capulets are not in such a hurry for Juliet to get married to Paris. In fact, they are quite shocked when Paris suggests it, as they had not been considering him as a potential husband for Juliet. However, they are ultimately persuaded by Paris's wealth and social status, and agree to the marriage.
