Why does each Step Up movie have different actors and actresses?

The Step Up movies do not have different actors and actresses. The main characters, Tyler Gage and Nora Clark, are played by the same actors, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, in all of the movies. The supporting cast changes from movie to movie, but the main characters remain the same.
