What is the resolution of Adventure speckled Band?

The adventure of the Speckled Band has a tragic end of Dr. Grimesby Roylott by a venomous swamp adder that he used to terrify people with. When Watson and Holmes confront him his crimes he suffers cardiac arrest and falls on it as it strikes killing him instantly causing his demise.
