When did V. R. Parton die?

V. R. Parton, who you may be referring to as the author of the popular "Parson Weems' Life of Washington" book, did not die.

This is because V. R. Parton was not a real person. It was a pseudonym used by the American writer James Parton (1822-1891) when he wrote the satirical biography of George Washington, "Parson Weems' Life of Washington" in 1865.

James Parton, however, did die on March 17, 1891, in New York City.
