In the Epilogue what does Prospero ask of audience?

In the epilogue of "The Tempest," Prospero asks the audience for forgiveness and applause. He entreats them to “set him free” by applauding his performance and releasing him from the confines of the play. He also asks them to remember him kindly, as he is now an old man who has been through much and is seeking redemption.
