Does Micheal Jackson own Willy Wonka?

Michael Jackson did not own Willy Wonka.

* Willy Wonka is a fictional character created by Roald Dahl in his 1964 novel "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

* The film rights to "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" have been owned by various companies over the years.

* Warner Bros. Pictures currently holds the film rights and has produced both the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder and the 2005 film starring Johnny Depp.

There's no evidence to suggest Michael Jackson had any involvement with the ownership or production of any "Willy Wonka" films. He was, however, a fan of the story and did purchase Neverland Ranch, which some say was inspired by Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.
