How did the Ike and Tina Turner Revue break up?

Ike and Tina Turner's relationship was marred by domestic violence over the years. This violence came to a climax during a fight after leaving a performance in Dallas, Texas, where Ike allegedly beat Tina so badly that her jaw was wired shut. After the event, Tina finally decided to press charges and filed for divorce, effectively leading to the disbandment of the Ike and Tina Turner Revue in 1976.
