When was acting invented?

The concept of acting dates back to ancient times and can be traced back to religious ceremonies and rituals involving storytelling and dramatic performances. Some of the earliest forms of acting were seen in ancient Greece and Rome, where actors performed in theatrical productions that often drew inspiration from mythology and heroic tales. However, it was not until the mid-16th century that professional acting companies, as we know them today, began to emerge in Europe.
