After defeating Pryce in the Ice Path and taking down Team Rocket in the Goldenrod City Department Store, Professor Elm will call you.

Here's what happens:

* Professor Elm's Call: He'll inform you that he's received a mysterious message from Professor Oak in Kanto. He'll ask you to meet him in New Bark Town.

* Heading to New Bark Town: This starts a new quest line that will take you to Kanto. You'll have to travel back to your starting town, using the Kanto Safari Zone as a portal.

* Meeting Professor Oak: At Oak's lab in Pallet Town, you'll learn about the legendary Pokémon, Lugia and Ho-Oh. He explains that they're said to have a connection to the "legendary beasts" (Raikou, Entei, and Suicune) you may have encountered earlier in the game.

This call from Professor Elm essentially kicks off the latter half of the SoulSilver storyline, introducing you to the events of the original Gold and Silver games, including the legendary beasts and the journey to Kanto.
