The GB Player was a feature exclusive to Pokemon SoulSilver. It allowed you to play original Game Boy games like Red, Blue, and Yellow directly on the DS.
If you're playing HeartGold, you can't use the GB Player feature, but you can still enjoy the classic Pokemon games on your DS or other devices.
