Who is Bob Seger?

Robert Clark Seger (born May 6, 1945) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and pianist who has recorded frequently with the Silver Bullet Band.

One of the best-selling artists of the 1970s, Seger has sold more than 53 million records worldwide. His hit singles include "Night Moves" (1976), "Still the Same" (1978), "Against the Wind" (1980), "Hollywood Nights" (1978), "We've Got Tonite" (1978),"Like a Rock" (1986) and "Shakedown" (1987), one of the signature songs of the 1980s with the movie Beverly Hills Cop II soundtrack.

Seger's first four albums were unsuccessful before he released Beautiful Loser (1975) which launched his 1970s stardom. He later released such popular albums as Night Moves (1976), Stranger in Town (1978), Against the Wind (1980), and The Distance (1982), as well as the compilation album Greatest Hits (1994), which became his best-selling release. Seger has been nominated for several awards, including eight Grammy Awards, and in 2004, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Seger retired from touring following his 2019 Ride Out Tour, but he has said he will continue to record new music.
