Why were theatres closed from 6th-10th century?

There is no evidence to suggest that theaters were closed from the 6th-10th centuries. Although there were some periods, especially during the Middle Ages, when theatrical productions were discouraged, there were also many vibrant and successful theatrical traditions during that time, such as the medieval miracle and morality plays.
