Is the globe theatre still around?

Yes, the Globe Theatre is still standing in London, England, and is a popular tourist destination. The current Globe Theatre is a reconstruction of the original theatre, which was built in 1599 and was the home of William Shakespeare's acting company, the Lord Chamberlain's Men. The original theatre was destroyed by fire in 1613, and the current theatre was built in 1997 to be as close as possible to the original in design and construction. The Globe Theatre is used for performances of Shakespeare's plays and other works from the Elizabethan era.
