What was the globe theatre used for?

The Globe Theatre was used primarily for theatrical productions, most notably those of William Shakespeare. It functioned as a public playhouse where theatrical troupes, such as Shakespeare's own King's Men, performed plays. The Globe was specially designed for theatrical purposes, with a circular or polygonal shape that allowed for excellent acoustics and provided the audience with good views of the stage from various angles. It showcased a variety of plays, including tragedies, comedies, and histories, along with other forms of entertainment such as acrobatics and bear-baiting.
