Where were Shakespeare plays performed in London?

Shakespeare's plays were primarily performed at two theaters in London: The Globe and The Curtain.

- The Globe: This was Shakespeare's primary theater, where many of his famous plays were first performed. It was built in 1599 by the Lord Chamberlain's Men (later known as the King's Men), the acting company that Shakespeare was a part of. The Globe was a large outdoor amphitheater, with a capacity of around 3,000 people. It was located on the south bank of the River Thames, just outside the city walls. The Globe was destroyed by fire in 1613 but was rebuilt the following year.

- The Curtain: The Curtain was another important theater in London during Shakespeare's time. It was located in Shoreditch, an area just outside the city walls. The Curtain was smaller than the Globe and was primarily used for plays by lesser-known playwrights. However, some of Shakespeare's early plays, such as "Love's Labour's Lost," were first performed at The Curtain.
