The new Globe Theatre is a reconstruction of the original Globe Theatre, which was built in 1599 and destroyed by fire in 1613. The new Globe Theatre is located approximately 230 metres (750 feet) from the site of the original theatre, on the south bank of the River Thames in London, England.
