A preview statement should include at least two and up to five points that will be included in a speech. The statement should be viewed as a very light sketching of a full speech.
A preview statement is linked together with connector words. These words include words like "first," "next," "then", "while" and "finally."
If a speech has the main points of "seasons in Scotland," "outdoor activities in every season" and "preparing for changing weather," the speech preview statement could be something similar to this sentence: "Scotland is a place where you can feel differences between the seasons, making it an ideal country to experience nature by finding activities that are complemented by a variety of conditions, while being prepared for any weather that you may encounter."
