What areas of theater did Bertolt Brecht contribute to?

* Dramatist: Brecht wrote dozens of plays, including some of the most famous and influential works of 20th-century theater, such as The Threepenny Opera, Mother Courage and Her Children, and The Life of Galileo.

* Director: Brecht directed many of his own plays, as well as works by other playwrights. He developed a distinctive directorial style known as the Epic Theater, which emphasized social and political issues and sought to engage the audience intellectually rather than emotionally.
