When was the phantom of opera filmed?

1925: Lon Chaney stars in the first feature film adaptation of Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel The Phantom of the Opera.

1943: Claude Rains stars in a Universal Studios adaptation of the novel.

1962: Hammer Film Productions made another adaptation, starring Herbert Lom as the Phantom.

1989: A musical film version was released, starring Robert Englund as the Phantom.

2004: Joel Schumacher directed a film adaptation of the 1986 Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, starring Gerard Butler as the Phantom and Emmy Rossum as Christine Daaé.

2011: Ken Hill's stage musical version was filmed for DVD release, starring Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess as the Phantom and Christine.
