What is the BBC font?

The BBC has used a number of different typefaces over the years. The current corporate typeface is called BBC Reith, which was developed in collaboration with the type foundry Monotype. BBC Reith is a sans-serif typeface based on the classic typeface Gill Sans, which was designed by Eric Gill in the 1920s. BBC Reith is a contemporary interpretation of Gill Sans, with a number of subtle differences that make it more suitable for use in a variety of media, including print, broadcast and online.

BBC Reith is available in a number of weights and styles, including regular, bold, italic and condensed. It is also available in a number of different languages, including English, Spanish, French and German.

BBC Reith is used throughout the BBC, including on the BBC website, in BBC publications and on BBC television and radio programmes. It is also used by a number of other organisations, including the British Council and the National Health Service.
