What did Hector of Troy die of?
Hector, the greatest warrior of Troy in Greek mythology, was killed in battle by Achilles, the legendary hero of the Achaeans. In revenge for the death of his close friend Patroclus, Achilles pursued and confronted Hector, who tried to escape inside the walls of Troy. Unable to outrun Achilles, Hector bravely faced his foe in single combat. After a fierce duel, Achilles managed to mortally wound Hector with a spear, resulting in his death on the battlefield.
