How to Clear the Address Bar History in Opera

Today's browsers remember everything typed into their address bars. The address bar is the text box at the top of the browser where you enter URLs. By storing your URL history, Opera and other browsers can display that history as you type new URLs into the address bar. If you share a computer or simply want to clean up the history that displays when you type, clear the history using Opera's tools menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Opera and click "Tools." Select "Delete Private Data." A pop-up window will open.

    • 2

Click "Detailed Options" to display a list of items that Opera can delete. These include cookies, bookmarks and passwords. Beside each item is a check box.

    • 3

Clear all check marks from all boxes. This will ensure that you do not accidentally delete history items that you do not want removed.

    • 4

Click "Clear history of visited pages" to select it. Press "Delete" and Opera will clear the address bar's history.
