How to Back Up Opera Favorites

If you make a habit of saving the best pages that you encounter on the Web as bookmarks, it would be heartbreaking if your Opera bookmarks file were to become corrupted or lost. For this reason, Opera gives you the ability to export your bookmarks as a file. Back up your bookmarks in Opera to prevent them from being lost due to file corruption or to move them to a different computer or Web browser.

Instructions

      Click the "Opera" button in the upper-left corner of the Opera browser window.

      Click "Bookmarks," then click "Manage Bookmarks."

      Click the "File" button at the top of the window, and then click "Export Opera Bookmarks" if you want to continue using your bookmarks with Opera. If you want to use your bookmarks with another browser such as Firefox, click "Export as HTML" instead.

      Navigate in the file browser window to the location on your computer where you want to save your bookmarks.

      Type a name in the "File Name" field that will help you identify the bookmark file in the future, and then click the "Save" button to save the bookmark file.
