Did the Greeks consider Odyssey and The Iliad sacred text?

The Greeks did not consider either The Odyssey or The Iliad to be sacred texts. Sacred Greek texts include poems by the legendary singer of tales that inspired all poets, Orpheus, whose hymns were considered especially efficacious in religious ceremonies, prayers, oracular statements from gods at shrines across the world, and the Eleusinian Mysteries.
