Jerome Kern (January 27, 1885 – November 11, 1945) was an American composer of musical theatre and popular music, best known for his Broadway musicals and Hollywood film scores. He wrote more than 700 songs during his career, including the standards "Ol' Man River", "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man", "The Way You Look Tonight", "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", and "All the Things You Are". Kern was one of the most successful and influential composers of the early 20th century, and his music continues to be performed and enjoyed around the world.
