How do banquos thoughts compare with Macbeths?

Banquo

* Is more cautious and skeptical of the witches' prophecies than Macbeth.

* Does not immediately believe that he will become king and is more hesitant to take action to make it happen.

* Feels guilty about the murder of Duncan and is haunted by visions of him.

* Is eventually killed by Macbeth, who fears that he will pose a threat to his throne.

Macbeth

* Is more ambitious and driven than Banquo and is more willing to take risks to achieve his goals.

* Is more easily swayed by the witches' prophecies and is quick to take action to make them happen.

* Feels no guilt about the murder of Duncan and is willing to do whatever it takes to stay in power.

* Is eventually defeated and killed by Macduff, who avenges Duncan's death.
