Mark Antonys loyalty to Julius Caesar?

Mark Antony was one of Julius Caesar's closest and most trusted friends and allies. He served as Caesar's cavalry commander during the Gallic Wars and supported him in the Roman civil war. After Caesar's assassination in 44 BC, Antony played a key role in avenging his death and prosecuting his assassins, the most famous of whom was Brutus. Antony's loyalty to Caesar was also evident in his personal life, as he married Caesar's niece Octavia Minor and remained a devoted supporter of Caesar's cause until his own death in the Battle of Actium in 31 BC.
