What do drama have in common?

* Conflict: All dramas involve some form of struggle, whether it's internal (e.g., a character's inner turmoil) or external (e.g., a character vs. society).

* Rising action: The conflict in a drama typically escalates over time, building to a climax.

* Climax: The climax is the turning point of the play, when the conflict reaches its peak.

* Falling action: The conflict is resolved, and the play comes to a close.

* Catharsis: The audience experiences a sense of catharsis, or emotional release, at the end of the play.
