What is John Proctors external conflict in The Crucible?
The external conflict that John Proctor faces in The Crucible is the Salem witch trials. He tries to stand up against Abigail and the other girls making false accusations but has trouble being believed because of his past affair with Abigail. Eventually, he is brought to trial himself, where he is given the chance to confess and save his life, but he chooses to stand by the truth and is executed.
