Is Juno based on a real story?

The movie Juno (2007) is a work of fiction and not based on a true story. The screenplay, written by Diablo Cody, is said to be inspired by Cody's own experiences as a teenager in Minnesota, but the characters and events in the film are fictionalized and were not taken directly from her life.
