What happens to and family in the prologue

The family in the prologue is subjected to a series of unfortunate events that culminate in their complete destruction. The husband and wife are killed in a car accident caused by an unknown entity, and their two young children are left orphaned. The children are taken in by their grandparents, who struggle to provide for them both emotionally and financially. Tragically, the grandparents also meet their demise in a mysterious fire that claims the lives of other innocent individuals as well. The siblings, left alone and grief-stricken, wander into the woods in a state of shock, where they are found and taken to an orphanage.
