What does the narrator have in common with Victor Frankenstein?
Both the narrator and Victor Frankenstein are driven by a desire for knowledge and understanding, even at the cost of their own safety and well-being. The narrator is willing to risk his life to travel to the North Pole and witness the supernatural phenomena that occur there, while Victor Frankenstein is willing to create a monster in his quest to understand the secrets of life and death. Both the narrator and Victor Frankenstein are also ultimately victims of their own obsessions, as the narrator is driven mad by his experiences at the North Pole and Victor Frankenstein is destroyed by the monster he creates.
