Why did heroes get cancelled?

The Heroes show was not canceled. The series was renewed in late January 2008 for a fourth season. However, the writer's strike postponed production of the show and only 18 out of 24 episodes were able to be finished before the strike ended. Season 4 premiered in September 2009 and ended in February 2010. The show was not renewed for a fifth season, leading to its cancellation.
