Walt watches Jesse being held captive in Jack Welker's compound, and tells him that he wants to ensure his children are taken care of. Walt convinces Lydia Rodarte-Quayle to return to the compound under the guise of firing Todd, only to poison her with ricin. Jack orders his men to kill Walt and Jesse, but Walt has rigged his car to crash into theirs and uses a remote-operated machine gun mounted in the trunk to kill Jack and most of his gang.
Walt locates Jesse tied to a pole in a meth lab and frees him. As police cars approach, Walt tells Jesse to escape and says goodbye. Walt limps into the lab, where he watches the police arrive. He collapses next to a gas tank, apparently from his gunshot wounds, and lights a cigarette. He looks at the lab for the last time, and fades out of sight as an explosion destroys it.
Six months later, Skyler pleads guilty in court to laundering Walt's drug money and other misdemeanors. Hank and Steve Gomez's widow receive medals of valor posthumously. Badger and Skinny Pete visit a Cinnabon where Walt used to work under an assumed name. Walt Jr., now using his father's name, visits Walt's grave and leaves flowers.
In a flashback to 2008, during his 50th birthday celebration party at the White residence, Walt privately asks Skyler for a divorce, and she tearfully agrees.
