What is Beauty and the Beast about?

Beauty and the Beast tells the story of a young woman named Belle who is taken captive by a hideous beast in his castle. Despite his rough appearance, Belle comes to realize that the Beast has a kind heart and that he is not as terrifying as he seems. As she learns more about the Beast, she begins to fall in love with him.

The story also follows the Beast, who is learning how to be more compassionate and kind towards others. He comes to realize that he has been cruel and abusive towards others in the past, and he wants to change. As he falls in love with Belle, he becomes a better person and is eventually able to break the curse that has been placed on him.
