Why did the judds write Love Can Build a Bridge?

Naomi and her daughter Wynonna Judd did not write "Love Can Build a Bridge". The Judds recorded "Love Can Build a Bridge" on their Heart Land album. It was originally released in 1971 by The Voices of East Harlem and was written by the musician John Barlow Jarvis and his wife, Maxine.
