Why did Sid killed Nancy?

There is no evidence that Sid Vicious killed Nancy Spungen. In fact, he was acquitted of her murder in 1979. Spungen was found dead in a hotel room with a single stab wound to the abdomen. Vicious was arrested for her murder, but he died of a heroin overdose while awaiting trial.
