Marcel Mangel (22 March 1923 – 22 September 2007), known by his stage name Marcel Marceau, was a French actor and mime artist best known for his stage persona, the white-faced mime character named "Bip", created in 1947 while he was studying acting in Paris. He is considered to be one of the greatest mimes in the history of theatre.
