Dippy and Dappy were initially portrayed as anthropomorphic dogs, but in later cartoons, they were depicted as anthropomorphic mice. They made a total of eleven appearances in the Looney Tunes series, usually in minor supporting roles.
In 1944, Dippy and Dappy starred in their own animated short film series called "The Adventures of Dippy and Dappy." Eight cartoons in the series were released, but production ceased after the series failed to gain popularity with audiences.
Despite their limited success, Dippy and Dappy have become recognized as two of the most obscure characters in Looney Tunes history. They have been featured in several Looney Tunes compilation films and television specials, and they continue to be referenced by fans and animation enthusiasts.
