Sweetnam was born in Bolton, Ontario, Canada, and began playing the guitar at the age of 11. She signed a record deal with Sony Music Canada in 1999 and released her debut album, "Noise from Nowhere", in 2004. The album was certified gold in Canada and sold over 100,000 copies worldwide.
Sweetnam's second album, "Sound Soldier", was released in 2007 and debuted at number 21 on the Canadian Albums Chart. The album was supported by the singles "Human", "Love Me", and "Forever Today".
In 2010, Sweetnam released her third album, "The Sickle and the Sword", independently. The album was supported by the singles "Tonight" and "Don't You Say It".
In 2013, Sweetnam released her fourth album, "Just for the Record", also independently. The album was supported by the singles "Sick Sick Sick" and "Nothing Ever Lasts Forever".
Sweetnam has toured extensively throughout her career, both as a headlining act and as a supporting act for other artists, such as Avril Lavigne, Green Day, and Simple Plan. She has also appeared on television shows, such as "Degrassi: The Next Generation" and "The X Factor".
Sweetnam is known for her unique voice, her catchy songs, and her energetic live performances. She continues to write and record new music and tour the world.
