How is the title Soldiers Home ironic for Krebs?

Krebs returns home from World War I but is unable to adjust to civilian life. He spends his days in the local soldier’s home, drinking, gambling, and reminiscing about the war. The irony of the title "Soldier's Home" is that Krebs is unable to find a home. He is lost in between the war and civilian life.
