Why Ponyboy like referring soda as a dropout?

Ponyboy doesn't actually refer to Sodapop as a "dropout" in the book *The Outsiders*. In fact, Sodapop never dropped out of school.

Here's why there might be some confusion:

* Sodapop left school to work: Sodapop is described as wanting to leave school to work and help support the family. This might lead some readers to assume he dropped out, but he actually worked alongside his father, rather than dropping out entirely.

* The Greasers are generally seen as "dropouts": The Greasers, the gang Ponyboy belongs to, are often perceived as delinquents who don't value education. This stereotype may make it seem like Sodapop is a dropout, even though he isn't.

In the story, Sodapop is depicted as a charming, easy-going character who is loved by everyone. He's not portrayed as being unhappy or resentful about not finishing school. Instead, he seems to be content with his life and his job.

Therefore, it's important to remember that Sodapop isn't a dropout. He simply chose a different path than Ponyboy and Darrel, and this choice reflects his personality and his circumstances.
