What type of tragic irony is in

In the play Romeo and Juliet, there are several instances of tragic irony. One that stands out is Romeo's banishment after killing Tybalt. Romeo did not wish to participate in the violence. Still, Tybalt's actions pushed him into a corner by provoking a fight and forcing him to defend himself and his companion Mercutio. Romeo's killing of Tybalt and subsequent banishment is tragic because the audience, aware of Romeo's noble intentions and love for Juliet, understands that the punishment outweighs the transgression of the act as it tears apart the lovers
