Is it permissable for a school to deny parent access minor child when there is no custody issues in play?

In general, parents have a right to access information about their minor children's education and to participate in their children's education. However, there may be some circumstances in which a school may deny a parent access to their child.

For example, if a parent has a history of violence or abuse, or if the parent's presence at the school would be disruptive, the school may have grounds to deny the parent access. In some cases, a court order may be required to prohibit a parent from accessing their child's school.

If you are a parent who has been denied access to your child's school, it is important to speak with the school administration to understand the reasons for the denial. You may also want to speak with an attorney to discuss your legal rights.
