What school did Shakespeare attend?

William Shakespeare did not attend school, as we understand the term today. He was born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, to John Shakespeare, a prosperous glover, and Mary Arden, the daughter of a wealthy landowner. Shakespeare's formal education likely took place at the King's New School in Stratford, a free grammar school open to boys of all social classes. However, records from this period are incomplete, and it is unknown whether Shakespeare completed his education there.
