In 1610, William Shakespeare was 46 years old. He had already written many of his most famous plays, including Hamlet, Othello, and King Lear. In 1610, Shakespeare continued to write plays and poems, and he also became involved in business ventures. He bought a house in Stratford-upon-Avon, and he became a partner in a theater company called the King's Men. In 1613, Shakespeare wrote his final play, The Tempest. He died in 1616 at the age of 52.
