How to Find a Song on a Soundtrack

Almost everyone has been watching a movie and heard a song that they really liked. Unfortunately, many movies don't make it a habit to provide easily accessible soundtrack information. The Internet can be an extremely helpful tool to resolve this problem. Through the use of several different websites, it is possible to find a list of the songs that are part of a movie's soundtrack.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the "Soundtrack Lyric Source" link in the References section.

    • 2

Type the name of the movie into the search box at the top of the screen, then click "Search."

    • 3

Look through the results on the next page for the correct movie and click on the link for the movie you are searching for. If no results are returned, proceed to Step 5.

    • 4

Search through the lists of songs for your movie until you find the song you are looking for. If you are unsure of the name or artist of your desired song, click on the link under the "Song Lyrics" column to see if the lyrics can help to identify the song. Note that their database does not have lyrics for every song.

    • 5

Go to the "Amazon MP3 Downloads" link in the References section.

    • 6

Type the name of the song you identified in Step 4 into the search box at the top of the screen, or the name of the movie if your search in Step 2 was unsuccessful.

    • 7

Click on the black play button to the left of the correct search result to listen to a few seconds of the song. Continue listening to these song snippets until you have identified the correct song.
