That came to invade England because Philip of Spain
Wanted to be the king of England too
And he didn't like the way that Elizabeth was doing things
So he sent his Armada to sail across the sea
And destroy the English fleet and set the country free
But the English were ready for them, they were prepared to fight
And they defeated the Armada and sent them running back to Spain"

She ruled England for over forty years
And she never married, she was single and free
And she was a Protestant and she hated the pope
She was a strong and powerful leader

Episode 2: Rotten Romans

* "The Colosseum was a big amphitheatre in Rome
Where people would go to watch gladiators fight
And they would fight to the death, it was a bloody sport
And the crowd would cheer and applaud when they saw someone die
But it wasn't just gladiators who fought in the Colosseum
There were also animals, like lions and tigers and bears
And they would fight each other or they would fight people
And it was all for the entertainment of the crowd"
* "The Fall of the Roman Empire"
* "The Roman Empire was a big empire
It lasted for over four hundred years
But eventually it fell apart, and there were many reasons why
One reason was that the empire was too big
It was hard to control all the different parts of the empire
And another reason was that the Roman army was too weak
It couldn't defend the empire from its enemies
And finally, the Roman economy was too weak
The empire couldn't pay for its army or its government
And so the Roman Empire fell apart"
* "Julius Caesar"
* "Julius Caesar was a great Roman general and politician
He conquered many countries for Rome and he became very powerful
He was also a very popular leader
But some people in Rome were jealous of Caesar's power
They thought that he was too ambitious and they wanted to stop him
So they plotted to assassinate Caesar
And they succeeded, they killed Caesar in the Senate
But Caesar's death did not bring peace to Rome
It led to a civil war and the end of the Roman Republic"
Episode 3: Vicious Vikings
* "The Viking Invasion"
* "The Vikings were a group of people from Scandinavia
They were seafarers and they raided and traded all over Europe
They were also very good at fighting and they were not afraid to die
They believed that if they died in battle they would go to Valhalla
A place where they could fight and feast and drink forever
The Vikings invaded England many times
And they caused a lot of damage and destruction
But they also brought new ideas and new technologies to England
And they helped to shape the country into what it is today"
* "Viking Gods"
* "The Vikings had many gods and goddesses
They believed that these gods controlled the world
And they prayed to them for help and protection
Some of the most important Viking gods were Odin, Thor and Freya
Odin was the god of war and wisdom
Thor was the god of thunder and lightning
And Freya was the goddess of love and beauty"
* "The Battle of Stamford Bridge"
* "The Battle of Stamford Bridge was a battle between the English and the Vikings
It took place in 1066, just a few weeks before the Battle of Hastings
The English army was led by King Harold Godwinson
And the Viking army was led by Harald Hardrada
The battle was a bloody and fierce fight
And it ended with the defeat of the Vikings
Harold Godwinson won the battle, but he didn't have long to enjoy his victory
He was killed a few weeks later at the Battle of Hastings
And the Normans conquered England"
Episode 4: Slimy Stuarts

To blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605
It was planned by a group of Catholics
Who were unhappy with the way they were being treated by the Protestant government
The plotters led by Guy Fawkes
Were caught and executed before they could carry out their plan
But the Gunpowder Plot is still remembered today
As one of the most famous failed assassination attempts in history"
* "The Civil War"
* "The Civil War was a war between the Royalists and the Parliamentarians
It lasted for six years, from 1642 to 1648
The Royalists were led by King Charles I
And the Parliamentarians were led by Oliver Cromwell
The war was fought over many issues
Including religion, politics, and social class
The Parliamentarians won the war and King Charles I was executed"
* "The Great Fire of London"
* "The Great Fire of London was a devastating fire
That destroyed most of the city of London in 1666
It lasted for four days and it burned down over 13,000 buildings
Including St. Paul's Cathedral
The fire was started by a baker in Pudding Lane
And it quickly spread through the city
The people of London were forced to flee their homes
And many of them lost everything they owned"
Episode 5: Measly Middle Ages

* "The Black Death was a devastating plague
That swept across Europe in the 14th century
It killed millions of people, and it had a profound impact on society
The Black Death led to a labour shortage, which in turn led to higher wages for labourers
It also led to an increased interest in science and medicine
The Black Death was a terrible time, but it also led to some positive changes in the world"

It was caused by a number of factors, including high taxes, low wages, and the enclosure of common land

The wars were fought between the House of York and the House of Lancaster

The wars ended with the victory of the House of Lancaster
