Justin Bieber was discovered at the age of 12 by talent manager Scooter Braun, who saw his videos on YouTube. Braun arranged for Bieber to meet with Usher in Atlanta, Georgia, and Bieber was subsequently signed to Island Records. Bieber's singing ability is largely self-taught, and he has not had any formal vocal training.
