Why was the song sugar written?

"Sugar" by Maroon 5 was written about lead singer Adam Levine's then-wife, Behati Prinsloo. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Levine said, "I wrote this song for my wife, Behati. It's about how sweet she is and how much I love her."
